Hops Vs. Vines Wine AND Beer Dinner Wednesday, April 12

Hops Vs. Vines Menu

Wednesday, April 12, 2017

Medina’s Village Bistro

6-9 p.m.

$38 per person + tax & gratuity/$18 non-alcoholic dinner

Course 1

Smoked Trout Dip on Crispy Crackers

Apple, Toasted Walnut, and Blue Cheese Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

Hess Collection Shirt Tail Creek Chardonnay

Classic Monterey aromas and flavors of citrus led by lemon and lime zest are accented with tropical notes and a touch of apple.  Crisp, clean and round on the finish, with nicely balanced acids, this un-oaked wine

vs

Foothills Torch Pilsner

So a new style evolved, in the city of Pilsen, combining the soft local water with pale malts and earthy Saaz hops. And the Bohemians were pleased. Our pilsner adheres closely to that original style. ’Cause we dig happy Bohemians.

Course 2

Grilled Chicken Bites on Grilled Crostini with Caramelized Onion, Garlic, and Pickle

10 Span Pinot Noir, CA

This wine offers a heady aroma of cherries that carries through to the palate, then opens up to a touch of red currants and a hint of spice.

vs

Lagunitas Dogtown Pale Ale

A big and malty pale ale with a thirst quenching hop flavor and a crisp clean finish. A 21st century pale ale for the hop lovers out there.

Course 3

Grilled Beef Tenderloin Skewers with Crimini Mushrooms-ladled with a Zinfandel Demi-Glace

Skyfall Red Blend, CA

Wonderful berry fruit on the nose with integrated oak notes woven throughout. On the palate black cherry and blackberries mingle with spice and oak notes. A broad and rich wine with a long elegant  finish.

vs

Natty Greene’s Mt. Mitchell IPA

Eureka hops give Mt Mitchell a unqiue flavor spectrum ranging from melon to citrus. A quality that makes this hop stand alone.

Course 4

Homemade Chocolate Flourless Cake with Fresh Raspberries and a Raspberry Compote

1000 Stories Bourbon Barrel Aged Zinfandel, CA

Batch #016 of 1,000 Stories Bourbon barrel-aged Zinfandel is a harmonious balance of Zinfandel grapes from Mendocino and Sonoma counties. Bursting with aromatic red fruit scents and complex black fruit flavors.  A touch of Petite Syrah and Syrah enhance those flavors even more with bold black and white pepper spices.  Rounded out with a layer of smokiness derived from the new bourbon barrel aging.

vs

Napa Smith Hop Java

A delightfully unique and complex tasting experience, Hop Java is an American Extra-Pale Ale crafted with Guatemalan coffee from the Napa Valley Coffee Roasting CompanyTM. The result is an explosive yet well-balanced combination of aromas and  flavors. This nontraditional beer is exemplified by its golden color and deep roasted coffee aromatics confounding the senses with decadent coffee  flavors up front, followed by the refreshment of a light, crisp, clean ale.

Vegetarian Options Available-please call ahead to request.
